Olha Herasymenko - Art Therapist and Counsellor

About Olha Herasymenko

My practice combines a background in psychology with advanced, graduate-level training from the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute.

I believe that healing is a creative process. In our sessions, we don’t just talk about challenges; we find ways to safely express them when words feel out of reach. This is where art therapy becomes a powerful tool, allowing us to safely externalize and process difficult emotions through visual expression.

My role is to support and accompany you as you reconnect with your inner strengths, for as long as you need.

Art therapy and counselling can support you through:

Life Transitions

Navigating periods of change, transition, or uncertainty in your life.

Stress & Burnout

Managing emotional overload, stress, or deep exhaustion.

Identity & Direction

Exploring questions about who you are, your purpose, or where you belong.

Relationship Dynamics

Working through challenges in relationships or family life.

Self-Discovery

Deepening your self-awareness and understanding your lived experiences.

Symbols and Stories in Therapy

An invitation to explore through creative metaphor, expressive arts, or verbal counselling.

Healing looks different for everyone. For some, the most supportive path involves spoken language and therapeutic dialogue. For others, simple elements like driftwood, textiles, or clay become profound storytellers.

Through this creative exploration, we can safely reshape complex feelings, finding clarity where words alone fall short. Together, we will choose the approach that feels right for your unique journey.

How Art Therapy Begins

Taking the first step toward therapy is a meaningful choice. If you feel ready to explore what support could look like for you, I invite you to schedule a complimentary initial consultation.

With gratitude, I acknowledge that my work in Richmond and Vancouver takes place on the traditional and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. I honour their history and living presence today.
